Petrified Bogwood occurs in many places around the world. These stones are from California. Bog wood or as some call it petrified bog. Occurs when a major volcanic event covers a bog in ash. Algae, fallen trees, vegetation, swamp critters and other things that make up a bog become petrified over time. Bogwood can be quite interesting when cut open. Cutting across sticks, pine cones and even parts of critters may show up in the slices. This pendant is 30x18mm (1.18" x .71") Chain not included.
