Burrow Creek Jasper-Agate
What is Burrow Creek Jasper-Agate:
Generally, a multicolored, dendritic jasp-agate or
jasper with shades of lavender , pink, yellow, browns
and tans. We have even seen some red dendrites in
the agate verity.
This material will fade if it is just left out on your rock pile.
Although this material can be vary pretty this way too It
turns a nice blue green color and the brown dendrites and
landscapes turn shades of yellow. It really is quite nice.
The term amethystine chalcedony has also been used to
describe this material. A sagenitic agate has also been
recorded from this site. Most of the rocks in the area are
currently mapped as volcanics.
The above pictures are the nice lavender variety of Jasper. This is about
a medium shade of lavender. I have contemplated leaving some of the lighter
grayish purple stuff out in the sun. Hoping it might be a little nicer
looking. I guess I will have to try it one day and hope it doesn't just
pale out.
